Sarah + Adam’s charming countryside wedding was the perfect way to kick off the 2021 wedding season. And man-oh-man did they set the bar high for the rest of my couples! As I pull into the gravel drive of the stunning Zigbone Farm Retreat, I am struck by the properties’ beautiful rustic old-world charm elegance. With its earth clay buildings, bold pops of color,…
Morgan & Michael’s Fall Ostertag Vista Wedding was perfection! Their wedding is exactly what fall wedding dreams are made of! Amazing weather, perfect temperature, stunning mountain views filled with a spectacular kaleidoscope of fall colors.
The Anchor Inn wedding of Colleen and Andrew was beautiful. Not just because of the stunning venue but because of the amazing couple and their warm, kind demeanor, made this wedding day perfection.
Debbie and John tied the knot at the beautiful Honey’s Harvest Farm in Maryland on October 10, 2020 the most popular wedding date of the year. I had 4 different brides scheduled for this date but due to COVID, all those couples’ wedding day plans changed. That is the circumstance that found me available for Debbie and John’s wedding. I am so happy that fate is so serendipitous. I might not have ever met these two and I would have missed out on their beautiful wedding.
As I twist and weave through the Pennsylvania mountain side, I am mesmerized by the thick, dream-like fog that blankets the ground. The weather outside is one of those misty mountain mornings where the dewdrops trap themselves to the fog clouds and linger around all day. But the weather doesn’t matter, because today Kayla and Jake are renewing their vows in the beautiful Sunken Garden at Lauxmont Farms!
As I turned into the long twisting gravel drive of Silverbrook Farm for Paige & Cameron’s wedding, I was awestruck at the majestic beauty of the property. As I parked and stepped out of my car I admired the old-world charm and romance this venue holds. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountain, this little English cottage farmhouse had me swooning with excitement. I smiled to myself, as I walked up to the front door, unaware of how deeply this day would impact me.
My heart skipped a beat as I pulled into the driveway of the beautiful Pavilion at Weatherly Farm. This stunning estate is perfectly nestled on the shore of the Potomac River, offering panoramic views in every direction. With a newly renovated bridal suite and amazing services and hosts, this venue really is a dream! They truly helped make Jillian and Alan’s wedding day magical.
One Couple, two weddings, one the ground and in the sky. No this isn’t the start of a Dr. Seuss story book but the amazing description of Pam and Matt’s wedding day! When Pam and Matt first told me about their plans, I was giddy with excitement for them. I love seeing couples get creative and do non-traditional, fun things on their wedding day! So when Pam and Matt told me that they were going to have two ceremonies, a quick legal exchange in VA, then rush across the border to Maryland for a second ceremony for a hot air balloon wedding in the sky, I knew this was going to be a special day!
No this was not the big wedding Lucy and Luke had originally planned. Not only did COVID-19 completely postpone their original date, but then the threat of forecasted heavy rains all day didn’t make anything easy. These two banded together and with their closest family and friends to plan and organize the perfect intimate wedding. Their wedding was complete with a handmade floral arch, a puppy ring bearer, and a zoom broadcasted ceremony.
They say the first year of marriage can be the hardest. Though I’m not quite sure who ‘They’ is, I can contest that the first year of marriage is usually a big adjustment for most couples. But some couples have more obstacles than others. Like 800 miles worth of obstacles! Yep, you read that right, 8000 miles! Can you imagine being married and celebrating the greatest moment of your life and a month later, saying goodbye to that love for a whole year?? I can’t! But that is exactly the situation our next PHOTO’S FOR HEROES winners, Greg and Krystle Miller, found themselves in a little over a year ago. Their love story is just like a fairy-tale filled with fables of true bravery, a noble quest, perseverance and above all else, love!
